Sheila holds
a Master of Social Work degree (MSW) and is also a Registered
Social Worker (RSW). She has provided counselling, group facilitation
and
training services to individuals and organizations for over nineteen
years.
Recognizing that it's easier for people to succeed when they engage
their
process of healing and personal growth, Sheila opened her private
practice,
Heartsease Counselling & Consulting, through which she helps
people and
organizations thrive.
Sheila
knows how important it is that a person feel heard. That's why she
listens. She
knows also that people need to be understood, validated, accepted,
encouraged
and inspired. She maintains this focus while providing all of
Heartsease
services.
Individual, Couple and Group
Counselling
Sheila’s
priority is to support people and inspire them through their healing
process. Healing
does not have to be
intimidating or overwhelming; Sheila guides people to heal in creative,
energizing and life-enhancing ways, gently encouraging them to work
through the
pain they are carrying to a place where they can engage life in a
healthier,
happier way.
Through
Heartsease Counselling & Consulting, Sheila supports people
overwhelmed by
the challenges of everyday life, be they ‘great’ or ‘small’. Heartsease
clients
explore a range of issues including anxiety, depression and anger,
experiences
of grief and loss, relationship challenges and personal and
work-related
stress. Sometimes people need to resolve something they’ve been
carrying for a
long time. Sheila has worked on behalf of government-funded charitable
organizations, specializing in working with men and women healing the
pain of
childhood sexual abuse and/or recovering from the trauma of sexual
assault.
Sheila
works with those who want to feel a greater sense of direction and
purpose –
those who wish to find and express the best of who they are; she
supports
people as they perfect their ability to live a live that best expresses
their
special, unique, inner essence.
Community Workshops and
Corporate Seminars
Sheila
facilitates training and educational seminars and has done so
throughout her
professional career. Heartsease services include a wide variety of
life-enhancing workshops and energizing professional
seminars. Programs are tailor-made
to benefit the membership/employee
base of many organizations. These programs provide the tools and
information
people need to be clear in their direction, purposeful and productive
as well
as experience greater accomplishment, life-work satisfaction, happiness
and
success.
